Kristen Jones serves as Director of Legal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Senior Counsel for McDonald’s Corporation. In this role, Kristen supports the development and execution of the McDonald’s Legal Department’s DEI strategy and initiatives in the U.S. and international markets. Kristen also works closely with the Global DEI function that develops and executes the company’s DEI strategies and initiatives enterprise-wide, including providing legal advice and counsel and ensuring cross-functional alignment of DEI strategies.
Prior to joining McDonald’s, Kristen was a Labor & Employment attorney at Goldberg Kohn (GK) for eleven years, litigating employment matters throughout the country and advising clients on personnel issues. When Kristen made partner in 2017, she also became the firm’s Diversity Committee Chair and, in that role, developed and executed the firm’s first DEI strategy, including establishing the GK Advocates program, which is a sponsorship program focused on the retention, development, and promotion of the firm’s diverse associates through innovative means, like providing each diverse associate with his or her own Advocate Council.
Throughout her entire time as an attorney at GK, Kristen served as pro bono Labor & Employment counsel to Openlands, providing L&E legal advice and counsel to Openlands leadership. This relationship exposed Kristen to the amazing work in which Openlands engages and the fantastic group of people leading the organization.
