Openlands Board Member George Davis

George served as Director of Telecommunications at Egon Zehnder International before his retirement. 

George joined Openlands’ Board in 1984, and some of his favorite projects are the TreeKeepers program, the Urban Forestry Initiative, the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, and the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve. 

George is a site steward at the Burnham Nature Sanctuary and is a member of the Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference Board, the Hyde Park Garden Fair Committee, and the Nichols Park Advisory Council. He enjoys running, hiking, cross-country skiing, cycling, gardening, and environmental planning. 

George lives in Hyde Park. He received his B.S. from the University of Chicago, and did his Graduate study at the University of Chicago.
