Glenn W. Reed

Glenn retired as Managing Director for The Vanguard Group in 2017. In this role, Glenn oversaw strategic planning, innovation initiatives, and investment stewardship at the firm’s Strategy Division.  

Prior to joining Vanguard, Glenn was Executive Vice President and General Counsel for HealthMarkets, Inc., and was a partner at Gardner, Carton, and Douglas (now Drinker Biddle). 

Glenn joined Openlands’ Board in 2018 following an introduction from longtime Board Member Jon Hamill. Glenn has been a longtime admirer of Openlands’ work and enjoys hiking, biking, and trout fishing. He keeps a large vegetable garden and flower beds on his property and enjoys tending to his trees. 

Glenn serves as a Director at the Assistive Technology Group, Inc. and The Peoples Bank of Arlington Heights. He is a Founding Director and Senior Advisor to the Barrington Area Community Foundation and a member of the Senior Advisory Board of the Barrington Area Conservation Trust. 

Glenn lives in Barrington.  He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
