Openlands Board Member JoAnn Seagren

JoAnn serves as Wealth Advisor and Managing Director for JAG Capital Management, LLC.  In this role, JoAnn co-leads JAG Private Wealth and serves on the Senior Management Committee and ESG Committee.

Prior to joining JAG Capital Management, JoAnn was a principal and co-owner of Advocate Asset Management LLC, and has also worked at Geneva Advisors, BDT Capital Partners, Towle & Co., and LaSalle Partners (now JLL).

JoAnn joined Openlands’ Board in 2014 and traces her love of nature to her upbringing in California, hiking, biking, and exploring the outdoors. When she moved to Illinois, she met Jerry Adelmann, who gave her the opportunity to help on a planning task force for the Canal Corridor Association.

JoAnn is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the International Women’s Forum, The Fortnightly of Chicago, and is a co-founder of Smartfarms.org. Crain’s Chicago Business recognized JoAnn as one of their Notable Nonprofit Board Leaders in 2022 for her work as Chair of Openlands.

JoAnn lives in the Gold Coast neighborhood. She holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Southern California, where she graduated magna cum laude.
