Conservation@Home

Openlands helps private landowners protect clean water, nature, and wildlife on the land they love, and we are now pleased to provide the Conservation@Home service in Lake County, Illinois. Through this program, you get the information you need to protect these natural treasures so you can use your time and resources well when landscaping your yard or managing a larger landscape.

We offer a free, one-hour, no-obligation ecological landscape consultation to help landowners identify projects that fit your goals and lifestyle. We can provide you with practical advice on conservation-friendly actions that enhance your property; ways to care for ecological treasures that might exist on your property; how to plant native trees, plants, and flowers; and eco-friendly lawn care. Join the large and growing community of people who are teaming up to create eco-friendly properties that are healthy for pets, people, songbirds and butterflies – while retaining the aesthetics they desire.

Please note: Openlands currently offers the Conservation@Home service to Lake County residents only. You can find the organization responsible for your county here.
