About Wykes-Plampin Nature Preserve
Wykes-Plampin Nature Preserve features rich riparian habitat with floodplain and old oxbows, upland forest, and steep ravines. Kingfishers and many other birds live here, and the forest and wetlands harbor good displays of native wildflowers. The river has a good variety of fish; anglers are attracted by steelhead trout and salmon, non-native game species which have been introduced to Lake Michigan.
