About Camp Bullfrog Lake
Camp Bullfrog Lake, part of the Forest Preserves of Cook County, offers accessible campsites as well as accessible canoe landings and boat launches, making it an inclusive destination for outdoor recreation. The site provides year-round camping, group activities, and water-based fun such as canoe rentals and fishing. It’s also the perfect launching pad for exploring Palos’ 50-plus miles of trails.
At 15,000 acres, the Palos Preserves in southwest Cook County are the largest concentration of preserved land in the Forest Preserves. Thanks to more than three decades of habitat restoration, they also hold some of the highest-quality natural areas in the county. These trails connect many popular sites, including the Little Red Schoolhouse Nature Center, Pulaski Woods, Saganashkee Slough, and Maple Lake, which features a mountain bike staging area providing access to almost 40 miles of unpaved trails.
