Molly Roche is the TreeKeepers Program Specialist at Openlands and works with the Forestry Department to train and sustain urban forestry advocates in the Chicago region. Molly has 10 years of experience in municipal forestry including positions with the Village of Arlington Heights and the City of Fort Collins (Colorado), where she gained skills in tree identification, preservation, Land Use Code and development review, and public engagement. Molly has a passion for urban forestry and believes in strengthening the relationship between people and trees through education, stewardship, and community building. Molly has been a TreeKeeper since 2015. She holds a B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a concentration in Human Dimensions of the Environment. In her free time, Molly enjoys photography and seeing live music.
