Mary Fortmann is the Landscape Ecologist at Openlands and works with people to help them to incorporate eco-friendly landscape practices on the lands they manage. Mary believes individual actions have global impacts and that adding native plants to the landscape is an excellent way to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Mary has provided over 800 consultations for public and private property owners to cultivate beautiful properties while supporting nature, connecting ecosystems, and reducing stormwater issues. Mary holds a BS in Botany from Eastern Illinois University.
