Openlands Staff Chris Bourbois

Chris Bourbois is the Conservation Ecologist, where he works with the Land Preservation team and outside partners to restore natural areas and advance conservation interests throughout the region. Chris knows that preserving these areas will help provide beautiful and ecologically valuable lands for generations to come. Prior to taking on this role, he worked for Openlands as a forestry trainee, assisting with community tree plantings. Before joining Openlands, Chris spent time as a field tech in a plant genetics lab and as a utility forester. Chris is a licensed pesticide applicator and Treekeeper #1533. He holds a B.S. in environmental science from the University of Texas at Austin.
