Laura Rosenkranz is a former environmental lawyer that is passionate about conservation, forestry, and other means of creating a more sustainable future.

Laura was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, where she previously practiced law. She graduated with a J.D. from Universidad Anahuac Mexico. In her graduate thesis, she proposed amending the Mexican Constitution to include every citizen’s right to a healthy environment.

Laura joined the Board in 2023. She strongly supports the mission of Openlands and its community-driven approach to protecting nature. She believes in the importance of collaboration and hopes to find ways to promote public-private partnerships that advance Openlands’ values and mission.

Laura lives in Chicago with her husband Ricardo.
