Johan supports Openlands as a Forestry Coordinator, where they facilitate and help organize the TreeKeepers Program, coordinate and support TreeKeeper workdays, and assist the TreeKeeper Chapters. With 3 years of experience and education in the environmental field, Johan brings expertise in science communication, teaching, and advocacy. Before joining Openlands, they were a fellow at the Field Museum, where they participated in Fellows United For Environment, Growth, and Opportunity through the Keller Action Center. Johan holds a dual degree in Chemistry and Chicanx/Latinx Studies from Claremont McKenna College. Passionate about making land accessible to all people, Johan is known for his ability to create partnerships and foster community.

Favorite Place to Get Outside- Johan loves Marquette Park where they grew up playing soccer and has fond memories of the willow trees there.
