Parks to People Active Transportation Act (H.R. 7751)

Connect communities to nature through safe, accessible trails and transit

H.R. 7751 would fund walking and biking connections between neighborhoods and public lands, making it easier for everyone, regardless of income or access to a car, to reach parks, trails, and open spaces. Tell your representative to support this investment in green infrastructure and community health.

Access to nature shouldn’t depend on whether you own a car.

Right now, many of the Chicago region’s most beautiful parks and preserves are only easily accessible by car, leaving them out of reach for residents who rely on transit, walking, or biking.

The Parks to People Act would change that by investing in the trails, bike lanes, and transit connections that link urban communities to the green spaces they deserve. Studies consistently show that access to nature improves mental and physical health, reduces stress, and strengthens communities.

Contact your representative and urge them to make that access a reality for everyone.
