Javier supports Openlands as a Communications Coordinator, where he contributes to digital media planning, insights, and strategy. With four years of experience in internal and external communications, Javier brings expertise in copywriting, content creation, and media strategy. Before joining Openlands, he worked at Trajektory, where he helped develop the company’s new broadcast tracking guidelines. Javier holds a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University. Passionate about land protection and trail creation, Javier is known for his storytelling ability.
Favorite Place to Get Outside — Javier enjoys taking long strolls around Lincoln Park and the Chicago Lakefront. His favorite location in northeastern Illinois is Deer Grove East. He is certified as an Openlands TreeKeeper #1962.
