Federal: Infrastructure Plan Steamrolls Environmental Protections

The White House has revealed its most devastating attack on public lands and the environment to date. Its “Rebuilding Infrastructure” plan relies on scrapping America’s bedrock environmental protections to build and rebuild roads and pipelines. Most troubling among these proposals are:

  • Elimination of environmental reviews of infrastructure projects through the National Environmental Policy Act;
  • Removal of Clean Water Act environmental reviews of projects that fill wetlands or dump pollutants into waterways;
  • Authorization for Federal agencies to take any Federal lands, including National Parks, for road and pipeline projects without review.

These proposals embrace the false choice that economic progress can only come at the expense of a clean environment, protected lands, and the basic rule of law.

Send a message to your Senators and Member of Congress, demanding they remove these attacks on conservation and the environment from this infrastructure plan.
