Chris Bourbois 2024 Annual Luncheon Headshot

Chris Bourbois supports Openlands as Restoration Coordinator, where he works with the Restoration team and outside partners to restore natural areas and advance conservation interests throughout the region. With 5 years of experience in ecological restoration, Chris brings expertise in botany, biological monitoring, and land management. Before joining Openlands, he worked at The University of Texas at Austin, where he worked as a field technician supporting genetic research on Panicum virgatum and Arabidopsis thaliana. Chris holds a B.S. in environmental science from UT Austin. Passionate about conservation, Chris is known for his strong set of field work skills.

Favorite Place to Get Outside- Chris enjoys biking to Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary and seeing movies at the Music Box Theatre.
