Directions: Enter Allison Woods Forest Preserve on the west side of Milwaukee Avenue just south of the Des Plaines River at Winkleman Road in Prospect Heights. The take-out is on river right just before the Irving Park Road Bridge.

6/1/2026. I put in at dam number 2 and took out at northwestern woods.
my fitbit gps said I paddled 5.5 miles. The water was low but I only got hung up in one spot . Nice paddle, lots of trees against the Central and Golf Road bridges, stay to far right to pass under the bridges.
