Pruning Workday at Austin Gardens

September 2, 2026
8:00 am
– 11:00 am

Join the Park District of Oak Park Staff and TreeKeepers in pruning trees in the Austin Gardens!

Work alongside park district staff to complete ground pruning at each park site. Prune out dead wood, suckers, and excess water sprouts as needed. No pruning of live wood at this time except at the discretion of park district staff for clearance. All live cuts besides suckers and water sprouts must be approved by staff. No pruning cuts of oak or elm.

Assist staff to collect brush that will be chipped by staff at a later date. Park district staff will provide tools, but please bring any extra tools you may have or prefer to use. Bring your own eye protection, work gloves, hat, and water.
