Openlands Volunteer Appreciation Event

August 6, 2026
3:00 pm
– 5:00 pm

Join Openlands for an afternoon of celebration, great food, and connection as we recognize the incredible volunteers (YOU!) who help care for our shared green spaces across Chicago. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your dedication and stewardship—you make a lasting difference in our communities. All Openlands volunteers are welcome, including TreeKeepers, TreeKeeper Course instructors, Space to Grow, Green Teachers Network, and parent volunteers. Bring a friend, and feel free to bring the kids—we’d love to celebrate with you!

Thursday, August 6 | 3-5 PM

Suncatcher Brewing: 2849 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622

  • Openlands will cover the cost of everyone’s first drink—a 12 oz pour, with non-alcoholic options available. Guests will receive a drink ticket upon arrival. After that, you’re welcome to start your own tab if you’d like.
  • We’ll also have tacos from Taco El Jalisciense—enough for everyone to enjoy a taco or two (please note this is a light snack, not a full meal).
