About Little Calumet River Praire and Wetlands Nature Preserve
Indiana University Northwest maintains the levee adjacent to campus. This levee has been restored with native plants and is lush with flowers and wildlife. Birding and wildlife watching can be done along the 0.7 mile stretch of the paved Little Calumet River Levee Trail, which continues on both east and west of this Nature Preserve. Free parking is available along the northern edge of IUN’s parking lot.
