Openlands Samantha Chavez

Samantha Chavez is a Land Management Specialist at Openlands assisting with planning and implementing ecological restoration work around the region. Prior to joining Openlands, she worked for the federal government in the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Samantha is passionate about habitat conservation and has volunteered in various capacities supporting conservation initiatives and restoration efforts around the state. She is a graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she studied Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences focused on Restoration Ecology and Botany.
