Mary Fortmann supports Openlands as Landscape Ecologist, helping people manage the lands the love to support resilient ecosystems. With 13 years of experience in the Lands in Harmony/Conservation@Home program, Mary brings expertise in native plant recommendations and invasive species removal. Mary holds a BS from Eastern Illinois University. Passionate about native gardening, Mary is known for her love of nature and dogs.
Favorite Place to Get Outside- anyplace with big oaks or sunsets and is actively involved in University of Illinois Master Gardener and Master Naturalist volunteer programs, CRTI’s Oak Ecosystem Recovery Plan, and native plant sales.
