With 10 years of experience in conservation, Katie brings expertise in workforce development and job training programs, urban forestry, and ecological restoration.

Katie first joined Openlands in 2018 as the Forestry Crew Leader, where she established and implemented the Forestry Training Program and Arborist Registered Apprenticeship program. Katie holds a bachelor of science from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Passionate about strengthening conservation career pathways, Katie is known for providing a unique perspective, connecting industry leaders, and her determination to advance workforce development initiatives.

Favorite Place to Get Outside- She enjoys bowling, hanging out with her cats, and Chicago sports, and has competed twice at the Illinois Arborist Association‘s Tree Climbing Competition.
