Huan serves as Vice President of External Affairs at Openlands, bringing more than ten years of leadership experience in communications, cause marketing, and environmental advocacy. In her role, she oversees brand reputation, strategic communications, and donor engagement, helping to tell powerful stories of impact and build public support for Openlands’ mission.
Prior to joining Openlands, Huan worked in the U.S. and internationally to advance equitable access to housing, sanitation, education, and nutrition. She was named a Young Ocean Leader by the Sustainable Ocean Alliance in 2018 and is a graduate of the United Way of Champaign County Emerging Community Leaders program. Huan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Environmental Science from The College of William and Mary and a Master of Science in Geography from King’s College London.
A values-driven storyteller, Huan believes in the power of narrative to foster belonging and collective action. She is a certified TreeKeeper (#1870) and an urban gardener.
