Emily supports Openlands as Vice President of Policy & Land Conservation, where she works collaboratively to protect and restore land across the region through innovative partnerships, policy reform, and planning initiatives. With nearly 20 years of experience in place-based initiatives that activate public spaces, Emily brings expertise in program development, conservation finance, and fundraising. Before joining Openlands, she served as Executive Director of the Chicago Cultural Alliance, where she reinvigorated the organization through new program development that built on members’ strengths and unique offerings. Emily holds a Bachelor’s Degree from DePaul University.

Passionate about connecting people to nature, Emily is known for her creativity and strategic thinking. Favorite Place to Get Outside- She enjoys visiting many of the region’s forest preserves, but most often the Palos Preserve in Cook County. She is a Friends of the Chicago River Paddle Guide and board member of Edgewater Castle FC Foundation.
