Openlands Green Schoolyards Program Manager Danielle Russell

Danielle Russell is the Green Schoolyards Program Manager  at Openlands and works with school communities to design green schoolyards and activate school gardens. Danielle knows that when children connect to nature and gardening, it helps with their well-being and that ensuring access to nature and environmental wellness are issues of race, gender, and class-based justice. Danielle was a program coordinator for DePaul’s Community Peacemakers program, organizing college students to facilitate social justice conversations and projects with high school students. Danielle is a trained TreeKeeper, Peace Circle Facilitator, and Technology of Participation Facilitator. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from DePaul University.

This Earth Month, we’re inviting you to go All In for Nature with Openlands.

Every donation will be matched up to $50,000. That means your gift goes twice as far to protect the natural spaces we cherish close to home.
