Danielle supports Openlands as the Conservation Planning Specialist, where she facilitates community-led initiatives, planning initiatives and programs that advance Openlands’ Strategic Plan. She leads within the organization in building cross-sector collaborations with partners in public health, climate resilience, education, and equity within the context of planning programs, initiatives and projects. With nine years of experience in community conservation, Danielle brings expertise in connecting communities to nature.
Before joining Openlands, she served and studied at DePaul University, where she organized college students to facilitate social justice conversations and projects with high school students. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from DePaul University. Passionate about community healing, Danielle is known for cracking cheesy jokes.
Favorite Place to Get Outside- she enjoys harvesting herbs wherever harvestable during the golden hour, and is actively involved in community gardening.
