Jonathan has been an active member of Openlands’ Board since 2017 and has served on the Executive, Development, and Communications committees.

He’s a Senior Lecturer of Marketing at Northwestern University, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous roles as a marketing executive and management consultant. Jonathan’s teaching and research focuses on the intersection of marketing and technology and he has co-authored several best-selling books on this subject.

Before joining Northwestern, Jonathan was a senior client services partner at Deloitte, where he held leadership roles including Chief Marketing Officer and Global Insights Leader.

Since moving to Chicago in 1992, Jonathan has been involved with numerous Chicago-based organizations, including Chicago Public Media, the Chicago International Film Festival, Northlight Theatre, the Field Museum, the Chicago Community Trust, and LEARN Charter Schools.

Living in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, Jonathan enjoys reading, visiting museums, traveling, hiking, running, and exploring local forest preserves and open spaces. His latest adventure was walking the El Camino de Santiago in Portugal and Spain. He holds a B.A. from Haverford College and an MBA from Stanford University.
