Julie Jahn is a civic leader and passionate advocate for conservation, culture, and community in Chicago. She currently serves on the Openlands Board and is a trustee for the Peggy Notebaert Museum at the Chicago Academy of Sciences. Previously, she spent ten years on the Lincoln Park Conservancy Board, where she is now a Life Director. During her tenure, she helped guide key leadership transitions and led projects such as the North Avenue/LaSalle mural and the Sunshine Playscape at North Pond.

A devoted nature lover, Julie enjoys working to improve open spaces, clean air, and natural habitats in the city. For her, making cities more livable means fostering a strong connection to nature, a connection she personally nurtures through walks with her dogs and runs with her family in Lincoln Park.

Julie was brought to Openlands by her love of nature and strong belief in the Openlands mission statement and organization. She hope to help provide more access to open spaces, clean air, and increase natural habitats in the city for all. For her, making cities more livable means fostering a strong connection to nature throughout the built environment.
