Brittany O’Neil received an Associate of Science degree at Kankakee Community College in the spring of 2018. She began her career in environmental sciences as a restoration technician for Stantec; primarily focusing on the removal of invasive plant species in order to promote the growth of existing native species throughout Illinois. It was after she learned the art of tree felling that she subsequently fell in love with the trade. She applied for the Openlands’ ARA program to enhance her skillset in tree healthcare in order to establish roots in this vastly growing industry.
