Green Teacher Network Crafting Self- Sufficiency workshop for teachers

March 2 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

Green Teacher Network-Crafting Self-Sufficiency

Teachers are welcome to join us at the Garfield Park Conservatory in a workshop on March 2, where we learn about self-sufficiency and well-being through a hands-on experience with herbs. During the workshop, we will:

  • Discuss what herbalism means to us
  • Discuss what self-sufficiency means for us
  • Discuss what does self sufficiency mean for our students and how can we craft that in and outside of the classroom?
  • Craft herbal hygiene products

During our breakout sessions, we will engage in crafting personal hygiene products such as balms, toothpaste, and deodorant. These activities will be coupled with enriching discussions on integrating such crafts and herbalism concepts to enhance the overall well-being of both students and teachers and find ways to bring more knowledge, skills, and motivation to continue delivering health promotion through ever-changing circumstances.

Tickets: $25. Space is limited; if you register and are no longer able to make it, please let us know so we can open up the ticket.

Accommodations: On the registration form, there is a spot to indicate if you’d like to request an accommodation.  You can also request accommodations by emailing Grace at gurrutia@garfieldpark.org.
