PR & Communications Associate

The ideal candidate will be curious and interested in environmental, conservation, and social issues of the day, reads widely, and collaborates effectively and efficiently to often meet time-sensitive deadlines – and is always ready to offer fresh ideas.

Birds in My Neighborhood Support Coordinator

The primary role of the Garden and Nature Based Education Coordinator (Coordinator) is to work directly with our volunteers. The Coordinator ensures quality delivery of our Birds in My Neighborhood (BIMN) program through coordinating and organizing our group of volunteers who implement the program in our partner schools.

School Gardens and Nature Based Learning Support Coordinator

The primary role of the Garden and Nature Based Education Coordinator (Coordinator) is to work directly with schools, students, community members, and volunteers. The Coordinator ensures quality delivery of education programs specifically related to our Garden and Nature Education programming around nature-based environments which include school edible gardens, pollinator gardens, and nature play environments.

Vice President of Policy and Conservation

The Vice President of Policy and Conservation has a role on the Senior Leadership Team which develops and implements the strategic direction of Openlands. The VP of Policy and Conservation engages internal and external teams to develop innovative policy solutions and land and water conservation initiatives that have regional impact and support Openlands’ mission.

Forestry Program Coordinator

The primary role of the Forestry Program Coordinator (Tree Planting) to support the Openlands TreePlanters Grant- working with residents, community members, neighborhood organizations, partner organizations, and municipalities to advance community planting efforts in the Chicago region.
