Patrick Shaw is an architect, civic leader in the arts and environment, poet, and sculptor who lives in Chicago with his wife, Mary Sue Glosser.
Until his retirement in 1996, Shaw led Shaw and Associates, which, throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, was consistently one of the five largest architecture firms in the Chicago region and specialized in office structures, hotels, houses for private clients, public schools, and a City College of Chicago.
In 2015, Shaw’s sculptures were exhibited in the exhibition “Perception” at Gallery 2506 (Chicago), and in 2016, Shaw published a volume of his own poetry, “Poems and Postcards.” He is committed to open space preservation and habitat restoration, and has created a conservation easement on land where he dedicates his time to removing invasive species, planting native plants, and documenting local flora and fauna.
Shaw attended Harvard University and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
