Openlands Community Greening specializes in community-based planning, public and school-based education, and on-the-ground projects with volunteers to promote, establish, and care for green open space in Chicago and throughout the region.

At the heart of our work is the belief that to care for something you have to care about it, and to care about it you have to feel that your contribution, now and for the long-term, will always make a difference. We advance our goal of greener communities through the following projects:

• Urban Forestry,
• Neighborhood Open Space Planning,
• Green School Programs, and
• Native Habitats.
